(CNN) -- With lead after lead failing to pan out, search and rescue officials said Monday they will expand the search area for the Malaysia Airlines aircraft that vanished three days ago.
The newly expanded search area encompasses a larger portion of the Gulf of Thailand between Malaysia and Vietnam, said Azharuddin Abdul Rahman, director general of the Malaysian Civil Aviation Department.
Nearly three dozen aircraft and 40 ships from 10 countries have so far failed to find any sign of the aircraft.
An oil slick that searchers had thought might be from the plane turned out to be fuel oil typically used in cargo ships, according to Rahman.
How is it humanly possible that in this day and age, a modern aircraft completely disappears from the grid? I understand when Amelia Earhart got lost in 1937 that they didn't even have jet engines yet, so finding someone in the middle of the Pacific was extremely unreasonable. But in a time where GPS trackers can find your car at the bottom of a lake and iPhones all have locators on them, it makes zero sense how this plane can still be lost.
If this plane was American, you can bet your ass that we would have found these people by now and their families would already have their insurance checks. So instead of lining everyone in Asia up on the coast and yelling out "HEYYYY, WHERE ARE YOU?", step up your game and find the damn plane, Malaysia.
ATTN Malaysia: Aliens must have built these towers, because you guys can't even build a plane.
