Back in 2010 it was hard to escape news of the KFC Double Down. From The Colbert Report to YouTubeto USA TODAY, consumers were endlessly intrigued by a bacon 'n' cheese sandwich that used two fried chicken filets instead of a bun.
For those who didn't get to sample the meaty menu item, KFC is offering one more chance: Starting April 21, the Double Down will return to the fast-food chain, according to KFC spokesperson Rick Maynard. You heard it here first.
Once again, the sandwich will be available for a limited time. I hear KFC has a social media campaign up its sleeve that includes a nationwide "Double Down Dare" (oh, my). For details, keep an eye on kfc.com and @kfc.
Never had one of these back in 2010 and I certainly won't have one now. Every fast food connoisseur knows his limits, and this is above and beyond those limits. Eating half of this sandwich would probably result in an extended bathroom visit and I can't fathom to think what would happen after an entire sandwich.
Especially if Totes was right with the nutsack chickens they use to make this meat.
Other fast food products that should have made a comeback instead of the Double Down:
1.) BK Chicken Fries:
Dippable, delicious, and filling. Crushed me when they discontinued these.
2.) BK Shake Em Up Fries:
This shit was the BOMB. Never eat the cheese packs alone though. May result in uncontrollable vomiting.
3.) Taco Bell Volcano Menu
My butthole will thank me that this is gone.
