Almost cried at work watching this. Goosebumps and chills. What a great story, once again proving how awesome hockey is and showing the deep human connection to sports. That one day with the Sharks helped this kid not only survive one more day, but fully enjoy it without thinking about anything else.

9 Year Old Banned From Wearing My Little Pony Backpack To School
People - (North Carolina)
The decades-old franchise's current incarnation is My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, in which the titular characters laud the importance of friendship.
"Most of the characters in the show are girls ... most of the toys are girly ... surprisingly I found stuff like this," Grayson, 9, told local station WLOS-TV, referring to his blue backpack.
But bullies have targeted him because of the accessory: Grayson says kids are "taking it a little too far, with punching me, pushing me down, calling me horrible names, stuff that really shouldn't happen."
The school's solution was to tell Grayson to leave the backpack at home, claiming it had become a distraction and was a "trigger for bullying," according to WLOS-TV.
Grayson's mother, Noreen, disagrees. "Saying a lunchbox is a trigger for bullying is like saying a short skirt is a trigger for rape. It's flawed logic, it doesn't make any sense," she told WLOS-TV.
This school is saving this kids life. FOR ONCE, a school is doing the right thing and protecting the student. Back in my day, I wouldn't be caught dead with something Teletubby or Barney related on school grounds. No thank you. This kid willingly bought a blue My Little Pony backpack and wore it in everyone's face.
The school is literally telling the parents, "Hey ma'am, your son is wicked soft and can't wear that soft shit in here or else EVERYONE is gonna rip him a new one."
And then the parents give the rebuttal that, "Yeah so what my son is soft, you should let him be soft. Banning soft backpacks are equivalent to rape."
Lady, get a clue. If your son was wearing a short skirt, he would also be sent home. Sometimes kids need some tough love when they're young in order to figure out what's right and what's wrong. Now you're inviting bigger kids to steal your son's Lunchables and whip dodgeballs at his nuts.
Nerds, fat kids, and smelly kids at this school must be pumped that this kid just painted a huge "kick me" sign on his back.
Get educated:
8 Things She Secretly Loves
1.) Good Morning Texts
For over a year I have sent one of these to my girlfriend literally every single day without missing one. Small romantic acts aren’t just for the “honeymoon phase” of your relationship. Consistency is key.
First word that comes to mind...Bullshit. Over a year having the presence of mind to send a good morning babe text EVERY DAY? Even when you wake up at 11:30 hungover on a Sunday? For sure not.
2.) Play with her hair if you’re laying together on the couch or in bed.
Just do it. Trust me.
Fun for approx. twelve seconds, until you get uncomfortable and want a beer. Hair is dead cells. Nothing cool about it.
3.) Remember details.
When you remember small details about your conversations, whether it be her usual coffee order or when she’s going out for girls’ night, it will let her know that you really pay attention and hear her when she talks.
I can barely remember what I had for breakfast most days/what color my underwear is. How am I gonna remember how you take your coffee or where you're going on a Girl's Night? All I know is that when you're out on your girl's night, I'm gonna be out with my friends getting wasted or in my shorts watching sports.
4.) Watch her favorite TV show or movie with her.
This will show her that you are willing to share in what she enjoys even if it’s not your first choice. Plus, you might find something new that you like without expecting it. Win/win.
NOPE. Moving on...
5.) Put your hand on the small of her back when introducing her to someone.
This is something I read a long time ago and it stuck with me for some reason. This is a passive sign of affection and isn’t inappropriate in a public setting, but it bonds the two of you together and helps her feel more comfortable.
I can 100% agree with this. Might be the only one. Nothing says you're mine like a hand on the back.
6.) When you keep your promises.
If you want her trust, you need to deserve it. A woman will instantly start losing faith in you the second you start to break your word, even if it’s something small like if you’re going to call her after work.
7.) When you’re honest with her.
See number 6...Listen, we all wanna be perfect. If you are human, chances are that you've told everyone you've ever known a lie. The trick is to never get caught. Never get caught should be the real title of number 7.
8.) When you’re funny.
If you want to keep a woman’s attention, manners are important. Good looks are a bonus, but having humor is a must. Don’t take my word for it, Stanford University says women genetically prefer funny men.
Every guy thinks that they are funny at all times. It's just science. You think we just say things to be cute or to be serious? Even in business meetings or on jury duty you wanna crack a small joke or throw out a one liner that separates you from the crowd. Unfunny people end up alone and suck in general.

This is gonna sound like a personal problem, but my head is in a weird place. Pictured above is a series of Facebook messages from this gay kid from my hometown that repeatedly sends me late night messages. I'm not a rocket scientist but this is the type of behavior reserved for someone who is drunkenly hitting on someone else. Now, I am as straight as Johnny Football. I like my women, steak, and beer. I don't like things near my asshole and I like titties. I write tweets and Facebook posts that are sometimes pretty homophobic, although they're not intended to be derogatory.
The real question is why is this gay kid continuing to message me despite me ignoring the shit out of him? Do I have the gay? All of these messages are past 12:00am...and on weekends. That's when I'm at my most vulnerable due to the fact that I am usually pretty inebriated. So everytime I get one of these, I get really scared, look out my windows, and immediately close out of Facebook.
I mean I've always wanted a pair of Uggs because they look wicked comfy (and TB12 wears 'em). I enjoy a good Lana Del Rey tune and I also critique awards shows.
If I have the gay and this is God's way of showing me...I'm petrified and not ready for this commitment. Although I'm 99.9% sure I don't. The HBO show Looking was on TV after True Detective two Sundays ago and it cut into a gay sex scene and I almost threw up. Between Game of Thrones and Looking, I'd say HBO filled their gay quota.
Do yourself a favor and NEVER click on the hashtag #Looking.
