Russell Brand throwing out some deep intelligent thoughts like a boss. Maybe he's coked out of his mind and not allowing Paxman to speak. And maybe some of his thoughts are borderline irrational. Regardless, he sits on that hanging curveball question at about 0:30 in and fucking cranks it to left field.

ReplyDeleteAnd what we currently have in place is working alright? Sure if you're an engineer or businessman working in America things may be great for YOU. But what about the population as a WHOLE? If you watch more of Russell Brand's interviews you'll notice that he's merely trying to raise awareness of the issues that are more significant than those promoted by main stream media and demand more alternative solutions to such issues.
ReplyDeleteIn America capitalism does seems to favor the rich. If and only if you look at how much your worth. With capitalism people are trying to always find the new great thing to raise the standard of living. This drive means that these rich will have many luxarys that the poor dont get. However this increase in the standard of living benifits the poor as well. The people in poverty have a standard of living that is comparable to the life the rich lived a century ago, and is continuing to increase. Yes poverty is bad but the solution is already in place.
ReplyDeleteAlso overall the global poverty has reducing greatly within the past couple of decades due to capitalism. With the only drawback coming from nations trying distribution of wealth.
His is right about corruption though. But his solution, revolution, would greatly increase corruption.
Overall Russell brand was funny in a few movies, has a horrible tv show, and should stick to drugs.
